8 Ways to Change Any Day

Did you know that our attitudes and perceptions can make all the difference as to how our life plays out?

So, with that in mind, I want to encourage each one of us (and I’m including myself in this reminder/encouragement) l to live with an attitude of expecting great things to happen in our world each day. These great things will vary simply because we are all unique. What I see as being great another may see as being very mundane, and that’s OK. We aren’t meant to have the same perspective as each other. We are created as individuals which makes life so wonderfully colourful. I’m glad we aren’t all the same, that would be far too boring.

When we start each day expecting to find things we can be excited about, our whole countenance shines, and we set ourselves up for a fabulous day. Trust me, I’ve tested this time and time again, and it is a game changer.

A few thoughts about how to go about starting your day like this:

  1. Gratitude: Start your day being thankful. Thank God for a fresh day allowing you the opportunity to see His love pour into and over you. Be grateful for the people who are special to you.
  2. Find Beauty: Pay attention to the beauty of the new day that has just begun. Even if it’s raining or cloudy, it’s a new day with new opportunities.
  3. Celebrate: Celebrate your own uniqueness and don’t compare yourself to anyone.
  4. Find Time: Create time and give yourself the headspace to find joy in the day.
  5. Carpe Diem: Seize the day and take every opportunity that comes along that will add value to your life or the lives of others.
  6. Listen: Press pause and close your mouth and pay attention to the inner dialogue that is happening within. If it’s negative change it and speak life into and over yourself. Words of kindness and affirmation can and will change the way you feel both inside and out.
  7. Love Yourself: Celebrate who you are and rest in that while encouraging yourself to keep growing even if it’s just in a small way in that day.
  8. Make good choices: Choose to have a great day no matter what comes your way. By dwelling on the positives and not the negatives, this is possible.

These are just a few things that I know will help an ordinary or a challenging day become a great day. Whatever you dwell on will set you up for the kind of day and life you will ultimately have. If this is hard, take it one day at a time, and one thought at a time. You can do it, I just know you can.
