Family News provides an opportunity for your child and family to share in their experiences and home life with their life at Little Miracles.  This facilitates continuity between home and centre life, which is important for the development of your child’s self-identity and their place within the community. Family News also nurtures an open communication relationship for parents and educators, building on trust and partnership.

We would love to hear about your child’s interests, family events and celebrations.  It would be great if you could help your child to write a short letter about their home life each week.  It could also be in the form of a drawing, photo, postcard, or a map. An item of interest such as a shell from the beach, feather found from home, a new hat, or baby’s first pair of shoes can be brought in to accompany the short letter.  Thank you for the privilege of partnering with you and your family in your Little Miracles’ life.

Please note that toys must be accompanied by a letter and all special items will be kept safe in the news basket ready for you to collect at the end of the day.

You will find a news roster indicating your child’s news day on the wall in your child room, if you can’t find it, please ask one of our educators. Your child can bring their letter on that day to share during group time.  Your child’s educator will help your child to read the letter and encourage group discussion.  We look forward to hearing about your family’s adventures
