Something that I hold onto that comes from the bible is HOPE. It is a fascinating word. It can be used in different purposes for different meanings. Today, I wanted to break down exactly what is so important about Hope.

We can rejoice in being hopeful. We can sometimes be hopeless. You can say I am hoping for or I hope you… The list goes on. In the end it is all about anticipation; something we desire, something we want but do not yet have. It is important to be expectant, and to be joyful when you reach for something you’ve been hoping for.

We all have bad days, and we hope for better ones. We know that they exist because we silently celebrate the ones that have passed in preparation for another beautiful sunrise. The hope that we have for fresh starts and new beginnings is fruitful because we can gleefully herald its arrival when it comes.

You can wish someone well. Blessing your close circle of friends with encouragement and words of hope is such a gift. Something as simple as “I hope you have a good day, or I hope you find what you’re looking for” can instantly change the course of someone’s day.

Hope is that tiny light that makes you see in the darkness. We can all see that light at the end of the tunnel, we cannot see what we may stumble upon before we get there but it’s not what we are looking at. We are looking at that tiny light – that is Hope.

“We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope.” – Martin Luther King, Jr.

 Martin Luther King Jr. had reason to hope. And so should we. Emily Dickinson’s words ring true – hope never ceases. Inspired by the words of the greats, writers, historical figures of hope and their lives – yes, we must accept disappointment and live in that season for a time. But we must stand strong in ourselves and be guided by others to be filled with Hope. It dwells in us always, sometimes lying dormant but always being ready to burst forth in joyous celebration.
