Well friends, Christmas is almost here. I can hardly believe another year has passed, it feels like it was just last week we were wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year for 2013. Like many of you, I find myself scratching my head, wondering where the time has gone.
With that in mind, I look forward and embrace this season and choose to live in this moment so I don’t miss out on a second of the Joy that Christmas brings.
I’m sure many of you have seen the recent WestJest advertising campaign that has gone viral (video below) where many Canadian travellers were surprised by not only a greeting from Santa but their wishes coming true. In fact, many of us watching the video experienced some of the joy the unsuspecting travelers enjoyed, simply by engaging through the video. What an extraordinary idea and I love how it’s gone across the world spreading Joy one view at a time!
Joy is an interesting thing and as I said last week, I love that Christmas allows us that time and space to really engage and experience Joy in tangible ways. It’s that feeling, excitement, happiness that can’t be contained or that smile that won’t leave your face or, it can even be tears. Yes, there can be tears of Joy.
For our family Christmas is a very special time, it is a celebration of our faith and with that comes pure Joy. The joy of understanding that we have been given the greatest gift of all and it truly is a gift that keeps on giving. The gift came in the form of a baby who was born in a lowly manger some 2000 years ago. Yet today, I and so many walk in the fullness of this amazing gift which looks like forgiveness, undeserved grace, unconditional love and the list goes on. It’s through these gifts that many of us find indescribable Joy.
So, like the WestJest travelers I choose to travel through life, celebrating my faith and loving this Joy that has become a great source of strength.
Where ever you are today and in the coming days, I pray the Prince of Peace will fill your home and that Joy will resound in your heart, on your face and will invade your space in a way that causes you to stop and smile.
Merry Christmas lovely ones. From Rob, myself and our entire family we pray your hearts a filled with Joy this Christmas.
God Bless,
Susanna Bateman
